Sedation Options We Offer
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is inhaled through a small mask that sits comfortably over your nose. It works quickly, helping you feel relaxed and at ease within minutes. It does not put you to sleep. You remain fully aware and can communicate normally throughout your appointment. When the procedure is finished, the effects wear off in just a few minutes, and you are clear to drive yourself home. It is safe for patients of all ages and has been used in dentistry for decades.
Oral Conscious Sedation
For patients with more significant anxiety or those undergoing longer procedures, oral conscious sedation is a stronger option. You take a prescribed pill before your appointment, and by the time you arrive, you will feel deeply relaxed. You will remain conscious and able to respond, but many patients have little to no memory of the appointment afterward. Because the effects last several hours, you will need someone to drive you to and from our office.
Who Is Sedation Dentistry Right For?
Sedation dentistry is a good fit for patients who:
